Symbiotic spaces of tomorrow.
This project makes a space for conversation about environmental consciousness by breaking down the barriers between the comfort of every day life and nature. To make this campaign revolve around a communal space I designed a cargo container sized grass hill which provides a place to sit and relax along the slope of the hill and within the face of the hill where a room of sofas made of grass are integrated with the ground. To deliver the campaign's messaging in the space and provide a sense of comfortable privacy to the hill's interior, I positioned the poster series panels to act as a partial entrance between the outside and inside, further breaking down that threshold. To physically make the model in scale I used laser cut panels of wood and plaster to model the forms, which were then adorned with wood stain, modelling moss, static grass, black paint, and the printed paper surfaces. Through this project I got to practice my copywriting skills in an advocacy context and develop a space which activated my graphic language while not necessarily relying on my graphic design skillset to illustrate the values of the campaign.
