The Rose Bowl Flea Market is a part of the tapestry of LA's culture that traces all the way back to 1968. It is the biggest flea market in LA with a collection that ranges from all aesthetics of second hand clothing to hand made art and its identity should reflect that. In my design I first approached creating a logo by gathering inspiration from the signage across LA's many apartment complexes. These developed into a series of RoseBowl wordmarks that reflect the event's constantly changing nature. From here the additional driving mark of the shimmer was created to touch on the treasure hunting character in flea market shopping. With these series of marks developed I then worked to deploy them cohesively using color while allowing moments of individual expression to gather attention and catch the eye of flea market goers all over LA.
