Ptehkgnacsh

PTEHKGNACSH (pronounced tek-nash) is a simple tabletop roleplaying game about algorithm fighting rebels called "sabopunks" who clash with the systems of the near future world. Where they players are the front line in a war for preserving authenticity and individuality. The PTEHKGNACSH installation takes these punk queues and translates them onto textural 3d objects.

Show them how they are wrong.

What ended up as a tabletop roleplaying game first began as a research project about how Ai will impact the fashion industry. While researching how Ai might integrate within fashion I came up with the idea that it will allow people to change the way they look on demand similar to how people are able to change avatars with a click. With this in mind I entertained the idea of what punk might look like or adopt values of if people are able to appropriate any fashion identity at will. This is the driving idea that continued forward into me creating a manifesto of sabotage-punk ideals that targeted harmful algorithmic identification in a means to preserve authenticity. These ideals felt like they warranted me writing some sort of narrative for this hypothetical near future. I decided on pursuing a roleplaying game as a means to allow the reader, or in this case the player, to construct their own story of what it means to fight against unethical Ai. While actually making the game mechanics I had the pleasure to write collaboratively with my closest friends and share our passion for games and creative writing in a project of mine which was really special.
